Thank you for your interest in applying for CIP-PSTF's bursaries!

We want to hear from you in your own words about why you think you deserve a CIP-PSTF bursary. In the application form, please tell us about yourself, your studies, and how you became interested in planning as your chosen career. We also want to know how financial support from CIP-PSTF will help you achieve your objectives and how you hope your education will benefit communities.

Please note that you will only need to submit one form to be considered for all the bursaries for which you are eligible.

CRITERIA 

To be eligible for CIP-PSTF bursaries, you must be a CIP student member in good standing for the current academic year and must provide evidence of your need for financial assistance to support your education (e.g. government student loan documents or equivalent justification).

DEADLINE 

The deadline to apply for bursaries is October 18, 2026.

PROGRAM

$5,000 CIP Diversity Impact Bursary (three available) – undergraduate or postgraduate students

$5,000 Ages Foundation Diversity Impact Bursary – undergraduate or postgraduate students

$5,000 SOAR Professional Services Indigenous Student Bursary – undergraduate or postgraduate students

$5,000 College of Fellows Undergraduate Bursary – undergraduate students

$5,000 David Palubeski Bursary – postgraduate students

$3,000 Ted Fobert and Robert Tennant Planning Merit Bursary – postgraduate students

$3,000 John Bousfield Bursary – undergraduate or postgraduate students

PROCEDURE

Submissions will be vetted by staff, who will contact applicants regarding any criteria issues or missing materials as needed. 

Based on the information supplied in the application, applicants will be auto-tagged to identify which bursaries they are eligible for.

The Bursary Jury will review and rate all eligible applications and recommend to the CIP-PSTF Board of Directors which top-scoring applicant should receive each bursary.
